About
Dr Nazee Akbari MBE is an accredited psychotherapist with over 26 years of experience in the mental health field. She holds a Doctorate in Psychotherapy and works integratively, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), humanistic, psychodynamic, existential and culturally sensitive approaches to provide support tailored to the individual.
Alongside her psychotherapy practice, Dr Akbari provides ADHD coaching and management support, helping adults understand how ADHD affects their everyday lives, relationships, work and emotional wellbeing. She supports clients with organisation and planning, time management, procrastination, motivation, emotional regulation, overwhelm, confidence and self-esteem, and with building sustainable routines and coping strategies. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, her work considers the whole person and the emotional impact that living with ADHD can have over time.
Her therapeutic background means she can explore underlying emotional patterns alongside the practical challenges of ADHD. She has particular experience with people who also experience anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship difficulties, or difficulties with identity and self-worth.
As a bilingual psychotherapist working in English and Farsi/Dari, Dr Akbari has extensive experience of working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Cross-cultural understanding is an important part of her practice, particularly where cultural expectations, family relationships, migration or identity interact with a person's experience of ADHD and mental health.
Her style is warm, collaborative and non-judgemental. She works with clients in person and online.
